The Flats

The week before I went back to school we made a day trip out the the Bonneville Salt Flats, just a few miles away from Wendover. We had never been out there and didn't know what to expect. When we got there, we found that we weren't allowed on the salt for safety reasons because an engineering team from Ohio State had rented out the entire flats to test out their new electric car that they had created. So I talked to the woman in charge and they let us go out about a quarter mile on the salt to take the pictures we wanted.

We had planned on staying there for a while, but because of the situation, we ended up being there for about 30 minutes. We still had a lot of fun in our short time there, as you can see. Jen dug up some fun props for the girls to play with and then we did our best. We had fun!

I'm just glad we were able to go out there and see what its like. It was a good experience for us. On the way back, we stopped by the shores of the Great Salt Lake for sunset. The last two pictures taken were located right off the Saltair exit, if you were curious. It looks pretty, but be prepared for the stench that awaits your nostrils if you decide to go there!
